Mokume-gane (pronounced moe-koo-may gah-nay) is an ancient Japanese technique that was originally used in the creation of samurai swords but today is used in creating jewelry. It most closely translates to "wood grain metal" becase of its concentric rings of alternating metal that closely resemble wood grain. The process of creating this style of ring is very labor intensive and I may or may not have the time to create this style of ring. You will need to contact me and ask if I am able to design one for you. The ring pictured is paladium white gold and sterling silver but mokume can be made with other metal combinations (usually some combination of silver, yellow gold , white gold and rose gold). The price will vary based on the metals and design complexity but the price would start at around $2200.
